Chowki or low tables were used in the Indian households during lunch or dinner time to eat food. The person used to sit on the floor and keep the food plate on the chowki since food was believed to be god sent. Also it was believed that the posture one gets white sitting on floor and eating from the Chowki is good for the health. Chowkis are also used in religious ceremonies to common seating decorations. They are a part of many households of India as Chowkis add a traditional touch to your home and interior.
