Hand Carved Wooden Yali Statue:
This striking wooden Yali sculpture depicts a powerful mythical guardian figure with a lion-like face, raised front leg, expressive features and an elegantly curved tail. Traditionally associated with Indian temple art and architectural ornamentation, the Yali is often represented as a protective and majestic mythical creature. This piece is richly hand-painted with traditional colors and decorative detailing, giving it a wonderful aged folk-art character.
Mounted on a substantial wooden platform, this sculptural piece makes an impressive standalone display for a console, mantel, entryway, study or collector’s cabinet. Its large size and detailed carving allow it to work equally well as an Indian heritage accent or an eclectic statement object. The combination of carved wood, hand-painted details and the distinctive Yali form makes it an especially eye-catching addition to collections of Indian art and traditional decor.
