Indian wooden Chowki:

The person used to sit on the floor and keep the food plate on the chowki since food was believed to be god sent. Also it was believed that the posture one gets white sitting on floor and eating from the Chowki is good for the health. Chowkis are also used in religious ceremonies to common seating decorations.
